Bell’s “Wedding Ale”

Bell%27s+Image+Wedding+Ale.jpg

Style: American Wheat Ale

ABV: 7.5%

Notes: Originally created  for the nuptials of one their brewers, Wedding Ale is one of the rare Bell’s brands to use spices. A subtle blend of orange peel and coriander enhance the aromatic profile of this golden ale. Brewed with a combination of wheat and pale malts, Wedding Ale is fermented with their signature house ale yeast. A light touch of European hops rounds out the beer, while a generous addition of honey adds a dry complexity rather than sweetness.

Boulevard/Tech N9ne “Bou Lou”

BLVD Logo Tech N9ne Bou Lou.png

Style: American Pale Wheat Ale

ABV: 5.5%

Notes: In 1989, Boulevard Brewing Company released its first beer. Shortly thereafter, Tech N9ne began his musical career. In the years since, both have flourished beyond their wildest dreams, becoming beloved institutions in their shared hometown of KC, and parts well beyond. This, then, was the collaboration that was meant to be. One of Boulevard’s most popular brews hooks up with one of Tech N9ne’s best-loved tunes to give birth to a badass wheat beer bursting with pineapple and coconut, DWAMN!!!

Boulevard “Bully! Porter”

BLVD Logo Bully Porter.png

Style: American Porter

ABV: 6%

Notes: The intense flavors of dark-roasted malt in Boulevard’s rendition of the classic English Porter are perfectly balanced by a generous and complex hop character. Bully Porter’s robust nature makes it the ideal companion to a variety of foods, from seafood to chocolate.

Boulevard “Easy Sport Recreation Ale”

BLVD Logo Easy Sport.png

Style: American Blonde Ale

ABV: 4.1%

Notes: A bright, refreshing, super drinkable ale with a hint of citrus, Easy Sport is a perfect fit for an active lifestyle. Beginning with a clean, easy-drinking blonde ale recipe, Boulevard adds electrolytes to an extended mash and boil to create a deliciously dry, beautifully balanced beer. At the end of fermentation, they add more electrolytes and a touch of tangerine peel, resulting in a slightly tart, subtly salty, all-natural, low calorie, carb-conscious beer.

Boulevard “Hibiscus Gose”

BLVD Logo Hibiscus Gose.png

Style: Gose

ABV: 4.2%

Notes: Boulevard’s version of an annual, yet resurgent, beer style. It pays tribute to the pleasantly sour, slightly salty wheat beers that originated in Goslar and became popular in Leipzig, Germany around the late 1800’s. A great introductory sour beer, Hibiscus Gose receives coriander and sea salt during boiling, then they steep dried hibiscus flowers at the end to create a vibrant pink hue. The result is a tangy, sweet and sour ale with a refreshing citrus character.

Boulevard “Smooth Fuzz Apricot Sour Ale”

BLVD Logo Smooth Fuzz.png

Style: American Wild Ale

ABV: 7.2%

Notes: This complex beer is a mélange of Belgian-style ales aged in oak barrels and foeders for up to 36 months. Tart and funky, Smooth Fuzz rested on whole apricots prior to bottling to infuse juicy stone fruit flavors, which mingle with the mixed fermentation character provided by Boulevard’s house lactobacillus and brettanomyces cultures.

Flying Dog “Dead Rise Old Bay Summer Ale”

FD Web Logo Dead Rise.png

Style: Spiced Beer

ABV: 5.5%

Notes: Skillful in shallow waters, yet adept when it becomes deep and rough, Dead Rise boats were specifically crafted to navigate the unique waters of the Chesapeake. Flying Dog’s Dead Rise, a summer ale brewed with Old Bay, was brewed to support True Blue, a groundbreaking initiative to support the Maryland Blue Crab industry. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and that light is knowing that Dead Rise returns today. That euphoric feeling is natural. Let it wash over you. We can wait. It also feels good to know that Flying Dog put the world’s first and only Old Bay Summer Ale in a six pack cans, creating the perfect miniature briefcase for your summer office…if your office is located on a beach, a boat, a hammock, or a newspaper-lined picnic table.

ABV: 4.5%

Atlas “Ninja Sauce Belgian-Style Pale Ale”

ATL+Grapic+Ninja+Sauce+%281%29.jpg

Style: Belgian Pale Ale

ABV: 5.6%

Notes: Not your typical Belgian Pale Ale, Ninja Sauce balances tropical Mosaic hops with subtle spice and bright citrus notes from the Belgian yeast. Light bodied, fruity, and ever so drinkable. Wondering what’s the secret sauce to this pale ale? A ninja never tells.

Charm City Meadworks “Mango Comapeño”

CC+Cans+Mango+Comapeno.jpg

Style: Sparkling Mead

ABV: 6.9%

Notes: Everyone tends to dial it down for their summer seasonal release, whereas Charm City kicks it up a notch with this not too spicy, not too sweet, hot weather treat. In case you were wondering, comapeño is a pepper that’s in the same family as a jalapeño, just less spicy. Personally, I can’t get enough of this stuff. I love the perfect balance of these two unique flavors.

Charm City Meadworks “Raspberry Coconut”

CC+Can+Raspberry+Coconut.jpg

Style: Sparkling Mead

ABV: 6.9%

Notes: A delicious yet unique combo of two exotic flavors, Charm City Raspberry Coconut is one the hidden gems from our friends down the road. Tart raspberry aids an earthy, velvety tropical coconut crispness with every sip.

DuClaw “No Way Gose - Tequila Barrel Aged Sour”

DC Logo No Way Gose.jpg

Style: Gose

ABV: 5.5%

Notes: A very similar base to Gose O’s and Strawberry Letter 23, this gose is made with pineapple, lime and salt, and aged in tequila barrels. Refreshingly tart, slightly sweet and delightfully easy to knock back. Put the Corona down and pick up a can of Duclaw No Way Gose for this year’s Cinco de Mayo. Or, feel free to dial back the margarita mix in your cocktail and substitute No Way Gose as a base and turn a few heads. This vibrant, delicious brew is another home run sour from our friends in Baltimore. Arriba! Arriba!

Stone “Revengeful Spirit Imperial IPA”

ST Can Revengeful Spirit.png

Style: Imperial IPA

ABV: 8.1%

Notes: In the late summer of 2017 Stone debuted Vengeful Spirit IPA, a tropical IPA brewed with pineapple and Mandarin orange. Its purpose was to demonstrate the gloriousness whole fruit can to their IPAs. It did so, with a vengeance. So, they asked themselves with creating an even bigger and more aggressive version of the beer, packing it with extra hops alongside real citrus and tropical fruit. The result is Stone Revengeful Spirit Imperial IPA, a beer, like revenge itself, best served cold.

Terrapin “Watermelon Gose”

TR Tap Label Watermelon Gose.png

Style: Gose

ABV: 4.3%

Notes: Goses, an almost forgotten style of beer has been resurrected by American breweries over the last few years. Terrapin’s first approach at a gose, this beer is kettle soured with Lactobacillus for a tart, but refreshing brew. Watermelon aroma and flavor is complimented with a distinct lactic tartness and saltiness that is true to style. The combo of sharp sea salt and refreshing watermelon dances on the palate with each sip, creating the ultimate alternative summer beverage.

Arrogant Consortia  “Enter Night”

Enter Night Pilsner.jpg

Style: Pilsner

ABV: 5.7%

Notes: In collaboration with Metallica, this beer represents the cataclysmic collision of two uncompromising supernatural forces. Click the link below for a brief story of how Enter Night Pilsner came to be.

Flying Dog “Summer Rental Grapefruit Radler”

FD Web Logo Summer Rental.png

Style: Radler

ABV: 4.5%

Notes: Summer Rental is the sixth beer to graduate from Brewhouse Rarity to standard release in their seasonal portfolio. Radler, German for cyclist, was born of necessity. In the roaring ‘20s when biking and drinking was all the rage, an entrepreneurial innkeeper built a trail from nearby Munich to his establishment. One fine day, he found himself with more bikers than beer, roughly 13,000 to be exact. To keep his customers happy and with a beer in hand, he stretched out his supply by making a 50/50 mix of beer and lemon soda. Flying Dog opted for a light lager brewed with grapefruit and passionfruit to create this refreshing, very low ABV offering. Slightly sweet and slightly tart with a crisp dry finish, this beer is a perfect starting point for any holdouts who have been waiting for the right beverage to get them into craft beer. Consider this Summer Rental’s RSVP to every pool party, cookout, family reunion, fireworks display, baseball game, boat trip, crab feast, and game of beach blanket bingo you’re hosting this summer. And don’t forget to save room in the rooftop cargo carrier for a couple cases before you hit the road to your summer vacation destination. (Jimmy Buffet anthology sold separately)

Terrapin “Golden Ale”

TR Logo Golden.png

Style: American Blonde Ale

ABV: 4.5%

Notes: Smooth as a lazy river, this easy drinkin’ ale is the perfect companion to take on life’s adventures. A blend of aromatic hops and a refreshing finish make Terrapin Golden an easy choice for everyone. Back in the day, in order to get your hands on this stuff you’d have to be in Georgia. Terrapin was pretty strict on where Golden went. Now, Terrapin has released this beer for everyone to be enjoyed year-round.

Yards “PYNK”

Pynk Tart Berry Ale.png

Style: Fruit Beer

ABV: 5.5%

Notes: The people have spoken. Yards is pleased to announce that Pynk is now available all year-round! Each sip of Pynk starts with a crisp, fruity zing and finishes refreshingly dry. The delightful hue comes from heaps of fresh raspberries and cherries in ever batch. It’s no wonder Pynk is called the rosé of beer. So, let’s raise our bottles, cans, and pints to the good things in life – like family, friends, and beer – that bring us all together. One important note to add is that a portion of every Pynk sold benefits Yards’ local charity partners, as they’ve raised over $44,000 since 2013 on breast cancer awareness. A drink for a cause.

SPRING SEASONALS

Atlas “The Precious One – Apricot IPA”

ATL+Image+Precious+One.jpg

Style: American IPA

ABV: 6.4%

Notes: This is the infamous beer that rattled the government’s cage with the shut down and seeking label approval during the process. As for the beer itself, spring’s most delicate fruit meets its hoppy soulmate in a pour of The Precious One. Take a sip of this juicy IPA and let the ripe apricot notes blossom atop a hoppy base for a delicately sweet bouquet and flavor. Remember Dogfish Aprihop? I liked that beer, no clue why they discontinued it. Atlas’ similar rendition is far superior and easily fills the void.

Bell’s “Larry’s Latest Flamingo Fruit Fight”

Bell%27s+Image+Flamingo+Fruit+Fight+1.jpg

Style: American Sour Ale

ABV: 5%

Notes: The name “Larry’s Latest” is a nod to the spirit of innovation and experimentation that Larry started in 1985 and continues within the brewery to this day. Their latest tart fruit ale is brewed with passionfruit and lime zest, resulting in a tart blend of tropical citrus flavors and aromas.

Bell’s “Oberon Ale”

Bell's Tap Label Oberon.png

Style: American Wheat Ale

ABV: 5.8%

Notes: Culture, tradition, passion, and consistency has organically grown Bell’s Oberon to be the third largest summer seasonal in the country. Being that Bell’s is only sold in 39 states, having the title as “third largest summer seasonal” speaks loudly when it comes to volume. This wheat ale is fermented with Bell’s signature house ale yeast, mixing a spicy hop character with mild, fruity aromas. The addition of wheat malt lends a smooth mouthfeel, making it a classic summer offering. Made with only 4 ingredients, and without the use of any spice or fruit, Oberon is an iconic choice for good times ahead.

Boulevard “Chocolate Ale”

BLVD Logo Chocolate Ale.png

Style: American Strong Ale

ABV: 8.7%

Notes: One of the brightest stars in a city filled with culinary treasures, Christopher Elbow has been handcrafting masterpieces in chocolate for more than fifteen years. In that time, the reputation of his artistic delicacies has spread around the globe. Elbow’s sweets are distinguished by their use of unusual and sometimes surprising flavors and ingredients. In that adventurous spirit, Boulevard joined forces to bring you a very special Chocolate Ale. Full of surprises, this distinctive copper-colored ale returns from a three-year hiatus. Medium bodied and effervescent, the aroma evokes dried fruits, earth and cocoa, with just a hint of spicy hops. Mouthwatering flavors of Valrhona chocolate from Dominican cacao nibs weave seamlessly between layers of honey, brown sugar, caramel, and nutty malt, deftly harmonizing and rounding into a luscious, lingering finish.

Boulevard “Rye on Rye 6”

BLVD Logo Rye on Rye.png

Style: American Strong Ale

ABV: 12.9%

Notes: Templeton Rye is typically barrel-aged for at least four years. Occasionally, however, a special batch is allowed to slumber for two more. To Boulevard’s great good fortune, these six-year barrels found their way to KC. This tawny celebration of spicy rye malt and rye whiskey offers notes of vanilla and charred oak, with a delightfully boozy sweetness.

Boulevard “Tequila Barrel Lime Gose”

BLVD Logo Tequila Barrel Lime Gose.png

Style: Gose

ABV: 4.2%

Notes: This beer is your ordinary ale that went on a country-wide bender in every major hipster city across this great land, changing its ways at each stop, picking up specs of inspiration of becoming more modern in today’s beer scene…only to end up in a tequila enraged drinking competition with some shady locals in Tijuana. Its tropical, its exotic, its zingy, it’s a fucking polka mariachi band in a can. This traditional German-style sour beer is infused with sea salt, coriander, and lime peel. The aroma offers assertive notes of oak, vanilla, caramelized banana, and coconut. A malty sweetness is balanced by tart lime and hints of lively tequila, tapering to a slightly salty finish. ARRIBA, ARRIBA!

Charm City Meadworks “Ruby Red Rose”

CC Logo Brand Level (1).png

Style: Fruit Mead

ABV: 6.9%

Notes: Bright and citrusy, this warm weather quencher is a mix of ruby red grapefruits and rose petals. Juicy fruit notes explode at first, but the floral-like sweetness mellows everything out, allowing the honey to shine at the finish line.

DuClaw “PastryArchy – Crème Brûlée Brown Ale”

DC Logo Pastryarchy Creme Brulee.jpg

Style: American Sour Ale

ABV: 8.5%

Notes: The PastryArchy series is a testament to the beer that kept business steady over the years at DuClaw, the almighty Sweet Baby Jesus. They’re not afraid to admit the struggles through the times with identity crisis and brewery direction. But, for the last year these guys resurrected their craft and re-solidified their presence and meaning in the MD beer game by dropping these 16oz cans every six weeks or so. They usually come in sets of three (one sour, one IPA, one dessert stout), and each unique to their own and executed perfectly. Birthed from these limited releases have been newly added seasonal brews and other core lineups that we know are en route and look forward to giving you. For their eighth edition of the PastryArchy series we have their Crème Brûlée Brown Ale. Intense notes of caramel and custard blend with the deep chocolate and espresso flavors of their base in this decadent dessert beer. Medium-bodied despite its imperial nature, it is perfect for fans of brown ales and dessert-lovers.

Flying Dog “Bellini Weisse”

FD Logo Bellini Weisse.png

Style: Peach Berliner Weisse

ABV: 4.2%

Notes: When Joy needed it – during a particularly necessary New Year’s Day brunch – the Bellini was there for her. She vowed then and there to bring the deliciousness of her Italian savior to the masses. Armed with determination and a damn good pun, she pitched the idea marrying sweet peach with tart Berliner Weisse to Flying Dog’s brewmaster. Now, we’re all believers.

Flying Dog “Thunderpeel Hazy IPA”

FD Logo Thunderpeel.png

Style: Hazy IPA

ABV: 6.2%

Notes: Sooo juicy, brah. Sooo juicy. Flying Dog is going off the rails on a hazy train. I’m sure some of you are reading this and thinking…um, y’all are a little late to the hazy game, right?! No. While all these small breweries and big national brands are pumping out NE/Hazy IPAs, dumping a turbid slurry of burnt vegetal malarkey with the shelf life shorter than that of a common housefly into over-priced cans…Flying Dog is sitting back, watching, analyzing, judging, taking notes…all waiting for the right time to pounce. Here, we have the Goldilocks of hazy IPAs. A perfect harmony of what makes a NE/Hazy IPA attractive with phenomenal stability and longevity. All the haze. All the aroma. All the dry-hopping. All the citrus. All the juice. Oh baby, this stuff is what the fuckin beer doctor ordered. Gosh, how could I forget…see below, this is main line priced and is now a part of the year-round Flying Dog fam! Everyone just remain calm, control you beergasms.

Flying Dog “Tropical Bitch – Guava, Pineapple & Tangerine”

FD Web Logo Tropical Bitch.png

Style: Belgian IPA

ABV: 8%

Notes: For years, she’s gone walking. When she passes, she lures you in. And time after glorious time, she never disappoints. Tall and tan and young and lovely. You smile. With a swing so cool and a sway so gentle, you’ll give your heart gladly. Bright pineapple with a pop of bubblegum leads to peppery spice that is quickly dominated by bold tangerine citrus, finished with an exotic slap in the ass of guava. The only thing not included is sand in places you never thought possible. How can you tell her you love her? Throw her on the shelf next to her former self, or put her on draft as an extended seasonal. After all, she is the queen of all bitches, respectable yet frightening.

Heavy Seas “Blackbeard’s Breakfast”

HS Tap Label Blackbeard's Breakfast.jpg

Style: Imperial Porter

ABV: 10%

Notes: Blackbeard’s Breakfast has risen to be one of the highest rated beers in the state due to this Imperial Porter’s immense complexity. Aged in bourbon barrels and brewed with Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company’s Dark Sumatra coffee, this brew features unique English malts which yield a lush bouquet of caramel and roasted nutty grain. Exquisite whiskey notes are harmoniously paired with the sumptuous coffee flavors, putting this beer in high-demand for any true craft beer fanatic.

Heavy Seas “Citra Cannon”

HS Tap Label CitraCannon.jpg

Style: American IPA

ABV: 6%

Notes: Born out of their Single Cannon single hop IPA series, Citra Cannon proved to be the most popular offering. Brewed with a ridiculous amount of 100% Citra hops, this beer is dank, juicy, and packed full of Citra hop flavor. Hazy, juicy, and packed full of dark aroma, this beer is the most intense hop experience in the entire Cannon Crew.

Heavy Seas “Smooth Sail Summer Ale”

HS Tap Label Smooth Sail.jpg

Style: American Wheat Ale

ABV: 4.5%

Notes: This is not your average summer ale. Heavy Seas created the most refreshingly delicious American wheat ale. Brewed with lemon and orange peel, Smooth Sail finishes with a citrus kick. Clocking in at an approachable 4.5% ABV, you’ll have your new favorite pool beer. Available on draft and cans only, it’s the perfect beer for trips to the park, hiking, or just sitting on the beach with your friends. Kick back, relax, and enjoy…a light breeze will take you to your happy place.

Jailbreak “Goldie Hon Hoppy Blonde Ale”

JB Tap Label Goldie Hon.png

Style: American Blonde Ale

ABV: 5.3%

Notes: Although Goldie Hawn claims that she’s a ditzy dumb blonde, this beer is no dumb blonde. An assertive Citra and Mosaic induced dry-hopping creates an ultra-zesty and citrusy aroma. The beer is incredibly refreshing and clean, ideal for transitioning weather. This is Jailbreak’s spring seasonal so if you’re feeling empty inside that White Russian is gone…here’s your answer. Shout-out to all the brightly printed dresses, outdated glasses, and beehive hairdos of the old school working class Baltimoreans. Cheers, hon.

Port City “Metro Red”

PC Logo Metro Red.png

Style: American Red Ale

ABV: 6.5%

Notes: Metro Red is Port City’s liquid love poem to the west coast, a pioneered region in today’s brewing society. When first brewed in 2015 for DC Beer Week, there was so much positive feedback from Port City’s fans that it would’ve been deemed foolish not to bring it back. Juicy and citrusy hops adhere to the biscuity, slightly sweet malt character, a study of boldness in balance. A glass or bottle of this stuff will easily slide into the hands of any hophead.

Stone “Enjoy By (4.20.19) IPA”

ST Image Can Enjoy By 04.20.2019.png

Style: Imperial IPA

ABV: 9.4%

Notes: Consistently delivered faster than any bottled/canned IPA on the planet, Stone Enjoy By IPA facilitated a paradigm shift in the respect for and enjoyment of hoppy beers by ensuring craft beer fans the ultimate level of freshness. Stone brewed this intense double IPA with more than 10 different hops, employing hop-bursting and dry-hopping techniques to amp up the peach and tropical fruit notes and overall hop factor. Brewed specifically NOT to last, this devastatingly fresh, golden beauty should be enjoyed within 37 days.

Stone “Espresso Totalitarian Imperial Russian Stout”

ST Image Can Totalitarian.png

Style: Imperial Stout

ABV: 10.6%

Notes: Imperial Russian Stouts don’t actually get their name from being brewed in Russia. In fact, the style originated in England, initially brewed to suit the discerning tastes of the nobles of the mid-18th century Russian court. Flash forward about 250 years, and here we find ourselves in a world populated by the diaspora of craft beer enthusiasts that also have a finely tuned palate for this richly intense style. Fortunately, you neither need to be Russian nor of noble birth to enjoy this intensely rich, deeply complex stout. To further bespoke the bejesus out of this, Stone brewed with a beautiful espresso roast coffee. It’s as fit for savoring fresh on a warm spring afternoon as it is for aging deep in a Muscovite cellar.

Stone “Moxee Gold IPA”

ST Image Can Moxee Gold.png

Style: American IPA

ABV: 7%

Notes: Behind every great beer are amazing stories of all the people, places and ingredients that culminate in what you have in your hand. The Stone Farm to Can Series is their heartfelt tribute to the dedicated farmers who cultivate the hops grown at a single specific farm as their way of paying homage to each one’s harvest. Many of these growers breed and develop their own varieties, like CLS Farms in Moxee, Washington did with El Dorado hops, named for the mythical hidden City of Gold. Moxee lies nestled in Yakima Valley, the very real paradise of hop production in the American Pacific Northwest. Stone Moxee Gold IPA is loaded with Centennial and of course El Dorado hops, all sourced from the fruitful bines of CLS Farms. The valley itself may be mostly green, but its bounty of hops are as good as gold.

Terrapin “Liquid Bliss Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter”

TR Logo Liquid Bliss.jpg

Style: American Porter

ABV: 6.1%

Notes: Unlock your inner Zen and delve into the Yin and Yang of two decadent flavors. Focus on the harmonic togetherness of chocolate and peanut butter as it takes you to a place you never thought possible…a Liquid Bliss.

Terrapin “Wake-n-Bake Coffee Oatmeal Imperial Stout”

TR Logo Wake-N-Bake.png

Style: Imperial Stout

ABV: 9.4%

Notes: Two Athens, GA based companies, Terrapin and Jittery Joe’s, teamed up to make one hell of a stout. A premium blend of Costa Rican, Guatemalan, and Zimbabwe coffee go toe-to-toe with a rich, decadent, pitch black base. A silk-like texture will allow flavors of dark chocolate and black coffee to please the palate, finishing full-bodied with a pleasantly dry end. In my humble opinion, the best beer these guys make.

Stone “ParaXtra Normal IPA”
Style:
American IPA
ABV: 7.7%
Notes: It’s no secret that at Stone Brewing they love hops. They also love using other REAL ingredients. This special draft-only release combines real mandarin orange and pineapple with a more-than-generous addition of hops. Using London Ale III yeast gives this beer some added body that serves as a jumping-off point for the fruit and hops. It’s juicy, ultra-refreshing and of course, hoppy as shit. If Stone’s Fear Movie Lions Hazy IPA got lucky with a one night stand with their Vengeful Spirit Fruited IPA, it’d be the ParaXtra Normal.

Terrapin “Touch of Grisette”
Style:
Grisette
ABV: 4.2%
Notes: Dry-hopped with Azacca for an aromatic rush, this classic farmhouse-style ale has lodes of wheat and spelt for a soft, biscuit malt profile. Look for a slightly tart and spicy finish from the lactic fermentation and traditional saison yeast. Every silver lining has a touch of Grisette.

Charm City “Pumpkin”
Style:

ABV: 6.9%
Notes: Charm City’s fall seasonal is a unique alternative to the ever-growing pumpkin craze. Atlas “Festbier”
Style:
Oktoberfest
ABV: 6.1%
Notes: Atlas’ irreverent take on a German-style Festbier. An increased hop profile features a blend of German and American hop varietals. The Atlas Festbier is lighter in both color and body than a traditional Oktoberfest beer resulting in a more drinkable lager. Sweet bread notes from the malt, orange blossom aromas from the hops, and a clean yeast profile make for a stein-worthy beverage.

Atlas “Ugly & Stoned”
Style:
American Wild Ale
ABV: 6%
Notes: A collaboration between Atlas, MOMs Organic Grocery stores and the Environmental Working Group. Each year in the US, 40% of our food supply is thrown away. To call attention to this massive issue, Atlas brewed Ugly & Stoned. They recaptured ugly fruit from MOMs, fruit that is perfectly edible but doesn’t meet consumers aesthetics. Rather than this fruit going into the waste stream, Atlas takes the stone fruit and puts it in a kettle soured American ale. The result is a beautifully tart, aromatic, and deep flavored beer that is a creative solution to a large problem and helps us get the word out about food waste in America.

Atlas “Blood Orange Gose”
Style:
Gose
ABV: 4.4%
Notes: Light bodied and effervescent, slightly sour with a touch of saline, and sweet orange aromas up front followed by faint notes of berry. Atlas’ Blood Orange Gose makes for a beautifully refreshing summer beer. Just enough sourness to quench your thirst on a DC hot summer day. The salinity will keep you coming back for more while the low ABV makes sure you don’t regret it in the morning.

Via Bell’s Brewery Instagram @BellsBrewery

Via Bell’s Brewery Instagram @BellsBrewery

Bell’s “Best Brown Ale”
Style:
American Brown Ale
ABV: 5.8%
Notes: Bell’s autumn seasonal is a little different than what you would normally find from a craft brewery’s fall lineup. This traditional American Brown Ale isn’t spiced or sweetened, but rather kept alone as is. As the leaves start to change color so do our palates, and Larry Bell’s intent is to offer the public an approachable, smooth, weather transitioning beverage. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Bell’s “Special Double Cream Stout”
Style:
Sweet Stout
ABV: 6.1%
Notes: Bell’s Special Double Cream Stout has such a complex combination of specialty roasted malts that most people think this is brewed as a traditional milk stout, when in fact no dairy products are in the beer, just brewing excellence. Double Cream will drink like liquid silk while the rich mocha and espresso flavors burst on the palate. Dark and sweet tones intermingle with a soft, roasty finish.

Bell’s “The Oracle Ale”
Style:
Imperial IPA
ABV: 10%
Notes: Bell’s take on the West Coast-style double IPA, The Oracle places hop intensity first and foremost, making only the slightest concession to malt and balance. The fireworks start with the aromatic punch of dry-hop sessions with hop varieties from the Pacific Northwest, citrusy hop flavors mixed with aggressive bitterness from a massive kettle addition deliver on that aromatic promise.

Bell’s “Oktoberfest Beer”
Style:
Oktoberfest
ABV: 5.5%
Notes: One thing about Bell’s is that whatever they make has a textbook approach with perfect execution. They follow their stellar consistency with brewing Octoberfest Beer, a six week long fermenting project that falls in line with anything brewed from the homeland. Gentle herbal hop aromatics lead way into a lightly toasted amber base, making this a perfect choice for fall festivities

Bell’s “Oberon Ale”
Style:
American Wheat Ale
ABV: 5.8%
Notes: Culture, tradition, passion, and consistency has organically grown Bell’s Oberon to be the third largest summer seasonal in the country. Being that Bell’s is only sold in 30 states, having the title as “third largest summer seasonal” speaks loudly when it comes to volume.

Boulevard “Berliner Weisse”
Style:
Berliner Weissbier
ABV: 4.5%
Notes: Few beer styles can match the delicate, sparkling character of the classic Berliner Weisse, with its light body and tart palate. It’s said that Napoleon’s troops referred to it as “The Champagne of the North,” high praise for beer coming from a Frenchman. With Berliner Weisse, Boulevard pays tribute to the style, while giving it a distinctively American twist. Bright and thirst quenching, the beer is enlivened by soft lactic notes.

Boulevard “Love Child No. 9”
Style:
American Wild Ale
ABV: 8.4%
Notes: Boulevard’s Love Child series of wild ales are barrel-aged with such boisterous cultures of Lactobacillus and Brettanomyces. These wayward offspring can prove so complex that Boulevard employs gauges on the label to convey the intensity of three key personal traits, funk, sour and fruit, presenting a picture of the blend at the time it was released. This beer will change as it ages, but don’t we all? Here is the complex breakdown of this year’s Love Child:

  • 40% Belgian-style Golden Ale 2017 aged in previously used wine barrels

  • 25% Flanders-style Red Ale 2016  aged in previously used wine barrels

  • 15% Flanders-style Red Ale 2017 aged in previously used wine barrels

  • 10% Blend of sour ales aged in barrels with tart cherries

  • 5% Belgian-style Golden Ale 2016 aged in previously used wine barrels

  • 5% Belgian-style Golden Ale aged in wine barrels with apricots

Brewer’s Art “Penguin Pils”
Style:
German Pilsner
ABV: 4.5%
Notes: A collaborative brew between The Maryland Zoo and Brewer’s Art, this German Noble and American hopped brew is crisp, light, and refreshing, making it perfect for summer sipping. A portion of all sales of Penguin Pils will benefit The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore’s African penguin program. This zoo is home to North America’s largest African penguin exhibit, Penguin Coast. This exhibit currently houses a colony of 66 penguins with room for up to 100 of these endangered birds. Active zoo staff support a number of conservation and research projects as well as public education programs on behalf of the species.

DuClaw “All Along The Hop Tower Double IPA”

Notes: Named after the Jimi Hendrix hit, “All Along The Watchtower”, this hazy, juicy, and tropical flavor bomb is sure to take you on a journey as smooth as your favorite riff.

DuClaw “Mad Bishop”
Style:
Oktoberfest

Notes: Mad Bishop, one of DuClaw’s most popular and enduring seasonal brews, has been haunting the congregation with its distinct copper color, and rich toasted malt flavor and aroma since it was first brewed in 1996. This true German-style Oktoberfest combines complex aromas and flavors of sweet and toasted malt, a smooth mouthfeel created by an eight week lagering process, and a clean, crisp finish.

On a personal note, this stuff is delicious. All you need to do is try it, then you’ll find an avenue for it on your selves or draft lines. E. Kripsers draft will be coming in “one-way” kegs, meaning there is no deposit on these, as these 7.92 gallon kegs are disposable when empty. Flying Dog “Strawberry Rhubarb Gose
Style:
Gose
ABV: 5%
Notes: We’re pretty tight with our boys over in Frederick. So tight, that after a record setting year they invited their favorite distributor over for a little brew party. Flying Dog’s liquid masterminds teamed with our salesforce on creating something unique and exclusive to Buck’s territory. Now, after popular demand from both the market and staff at Flying Dog, this one time concept comes alive, full-fledged as Flying Dog’s latest and greatest Brewhouse Rarity. As for the beer itself, strawberry and rhubarb go together like peas and carrots, peanut butter and jelly, and Cinnemax after 11pm on Thursday nights and your 15-year-old self. A beautifully vibrant and fluorescent pink base unleashes a seductive bouquet of ripe strawberry and raspberry candy. An eyebrow raising acidic tartness pinches the front of the tongue, mellowing out towards the end and allowing the natural salt character to adhere to the tropical fruit notes. We’re pretty freakin’ psyched about this beer, we hope you are too. Cheers!

Flying Dog “Alpha Initiative #03 IPA”
Style:
American IPA
ABV: 6.8%
Notes: Alpha Initiative is a playground for Flying Dog’s brewers to explore, create, and analyze all things IPA. Pilot #03 is all about essential oils. To compliment the juicy tropical fruit notes of a Galaxy dry hop, a natural hop oil was added post fermentation. The oil is a blend of flavor and aroma fractions from a variety of hops to create an apricot, peach, and stone fruit profile.

Flying Dog “The Fear Imperial Pumpkin”
Style:
Imperial Pumpkin Ale
ABV: 9%
Notes: I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get my hands on a beer brewed with pumpkin, pumpkin pie spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, Sporty spice – the more spice the better when it comes to my beer. I want to crack the cap off that shit and get punched in the face with a bouquet that makes me think of nothing but fall, flannel, and football. I love pumpkin beers. You know who I want to meet? I want to meet the genius who was the first to toss some pumpkin into a batch of beer. I want to shake his hand heartily and thank him from the bottom of my cozy, candy corn-shaped heart. He knew that all a fall beer needed was the hard and hard-to-get-to meat of a pumpkin. Fuck that shiny orange rind. Fuck those slimy ass seeds. He wanted meat and he went for it. God bless him. And you know what? Bitch all you want about pumpkin beers coming out too early. “Pumpkin beers on shelves in August?” That’s just nature’s way of making sure you’re ready for a cornucopia of fall flavor jam-packed into each and every bottle. You’re saying you don’t want to be fully prepared for the moment it goes from 95 to 62 degrees? Clearly, you were never a boy scout. I digress, anyway, The Fear is here. Stop bitching, start buying.

Flying Dog “Dead Rise Old Bay Summer Ale”
Style:
Spiced Beer
ABV: 5.6%
Notes: There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and that light is knowing that Dead Rise returns today. That euphoric feeling is natural. Let is wash over you. I can wait. It also feels good to know that Flying Dog put the world’s first and only Old Bay Summer Ale in a can. After that they jumped into boxes twelve-at-a-time, creating the perfect briefcase for your summer office…if your office is located on a beach, a boat, a hammock, or a newspaper-lined picnic table. This beer was brewed to highlight the indelible character of Old Bay through bright and refreshing citrus hop notes and a crisp tart finish. The brewers at Flying Dog worked their asses off to create the perfect spiced balance and ultimately a craft beer that quickly earned its spot alongside the iconic yellow, blue, and red tin.

Flying Dog “Kujo Cold Brew Coffee Porter”
Style:
American Porter
ABV: 6%
Notes: Together, Flying Dog and Vigilante Coffee Company summoned a savage beast back from Satan’s doggie daycare. Kujo has been reincarnated in the form of a cold brew coffee porter using Colombian La Caturrita beans. Vigilante sources a little bit of the best beans from each of their small-scale farm partners in Huila and Tomila, specifically the peaberries and beans that would otherwise be too small a screen size for those farms to sell at top dollar. Flying Dog brews Kujo with nutty roasted malts and steeps it with the sweet, chocolate-forward coffee during fermentation to give the beer that classic cold brew smoothness. This beautiful hybrid of beer and coffee will suspend you in a state of pure autumnal nirvana.

Belgian Strong Pale Ale
ABV: 8.5%
Notes: With this intrepid Belgian-style ale, Heavy Seas amassed  the cumulative skills of their Grand Crew to create this red wine barrel-aged masterpiece. Brewed with an eclectic mix of aromatic Belgian malts and a carefully curated selection of yeasts, Heavy Seas hopes it doesn’t suck.

Heavy Seas “The Great’er Pumpkin”
Style:
Imperial Pumpkin Ale
ABV: 10%
Notes: In the most worthy of pumpkin patches and during the silence of the midnight hour, the Great’er Pumpkin raises up and pours a rich deep and burnished orange color. Heady aromas of bourbon, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, and clove linger seductively over the thick white head of this tremendous brew. Its love at first sip as the full malt body, dominated by British crystal malt, brown sugar and pumpkin, slowly washes over your tongue. Bourbon barrel aging rounds out the flavors with notes of oak, vanilla, and whiskey. Pairs well with crisp autumn weather, crunchy fallen leaves, and raiding the hell out of your kid’s Halloween candy bags.

Heavy Seas “TreasureFest”
Style:
Oktoberfest
ABV: 6%
Notes: Prosit! It’s time to celebrate the tradition of lager. Brewed in the Oktoberfest style, TreasureFest is an American spin on the classic German style. This is created with the use of imported German malts and lavishly hopped with a blend of German hops in the kettle, then dry-hopped with American hops, giving an alternative twist on the old Oktober stand by. This refreshing fall treat is sure to do the job…whether you wish to dance around in lederhosen and parade about with an oversized, boot shaped glass, I leave to you. This is judgement free zone.

Hofbräu “Oktoberfestbier”

Jailbreak

Jailbreak”Oktoberfest”
Style:
Oktoberfest
ABV: 5.5%
Notes: Jailbreak’s Oktoberfest is their take on the traditional Bavarian Marzen lager. Unabashedly malt-forward, this medium-bodied, dry lager exemplifies balance between a carefully curated selection of German malts, ester-free lager yeast, and the appropriate tinge of continental hop character. Captivating aromas of actively baking bread and palate sensations of toffee-laced sourdough crust punctuate every aspect of the drinking experience, to the extent that their arms are already tired from raising their steins!

Port City

Port City “Oktoberfest”
Style:
Oktoberfest
ABV: 5.5%
Notes: Port City’s Oktoberfest is a traditional Marzen-style lager, brewed entirely with German malts and hops. This beer is a brilliant amber with gently sweet flavors of crusty bread, leading to a clean, dry finish punctuated by a touch of noble hops. Served in the Keller/Zwickel style, Port City’s fall seasonal is unfiltered and completely naturally carbonated so, in other words, their Oktoberfest is full-on authentic.

Stone “22nd Anniversary Anni-Matter Double IPA”
Style:
Imperial IPA\
ABV: 9.1%
Notes: Stone Brewing has spent over 20 years pursuing clean, bitter, hop forward beers. It would be passé to suggest this beer is simply another gigantically juicy and extremely complex Stone Double IPA. It’s a middle finger to the haze craze proving that clean, crisp IPAs can still be smashed full of big, juicy, tropical flavor. It’s also the winner of their 2018 Spotlight Series contest, which puts teams of brewers against each other to see who can brew the best beer. Citrus takes the forefront, with plenty of fruit character to back it up. With incredible mouthfeel from the malted oats, the beer isn’t sweet at all, but its light amber color would make you think it is sweeter than it tastes.

Stone “Farking Wheaton w00tstout 2018”
Style:
Imperial Stout
ABV: 11.5%
Notes: This barre;-aged palate saver has been a favorite among Stone fans since its inception in 2013. Pecans, wheat, flaked rye, and bourbon-soaked wood provide this whopping, complex superhero version of an imperial stout with a profound complexity that makes it ideal for cellaring…if you can wait that long.

Stone “Idolatrous IPA”
Style:
American IPA
ABV: 7%
Notes: Stone Idolatrous IPA represents the elevated state of reverence that Stone extols for the venerable and almighty hop. El Dorado and Mosaic hops have been anointed to bestow their divine qualities on this sacred brew. This limited release is part of Stone’s Hop Worship Seasonal IPA Series…Glory be to those who imbibe it in its freshest form…and faithfully worship thy hop in the beauty of blissful bitterness.

Stone “Totalitarian Imperial Russian Stout”
Style:
Russian Imperial Stout
ABV: 10.6%
Notes: Built from the backbone of Stone’s classic Imperial Russian Stout, Stone Totalitarian Imperial Russian Stout certainly celebrates the hallmarks of the style – it pours jet black with a fluffy chocolate head and tastes of deeply dark fruit flavors with rich chocolate and coffee undertones. Yet, however old world in nature, this particular rendition of an IRS is flavored with new world hops, intensifying its berry flavors and aroma while subtly introducing a juicy melon undertone. The result is a spectacularly sinful delight. Don’t say Stone didn’t warn you, comrade.

Terrapin “Watermelon Gose”
Style:
Gose
ABV: 4.3%
Notes: Goses are hot right now. An almost forgotten style of beer has been resurrected by American breweries over the last few years, especially this year.

Yards “Cape of Good Hope Double IPA”
Style:
Imperial IPA
ABV: 9.7%
Notes: Though the recipe changes year to year, this west coast-style double IPA always embodies the adventurous spirit of the original India Pale Ales, and each year’s release promises to take you on an epic journey. This year’s batch bursts with notes of citrus, melon, and pine from Chinook, El Dorado, Citra, Azacca, Simcoe, Cascade, and whole flower Columbus hops. In other words, hoppy as shit.

Yards “Rival IPA”
Style:
American IPA
ABV: 6.2%
Notes: Inspired by their once brewed “Rye IPA”, this “over the top” ale utilizes pale crystal and rye malts. Bravo, Nugget, and whole flower Chinook hops are added in the hopback to yield a rich, sticky, and downright aggressive hop character. To amplify this beer’s dank nature, Yards then dry-hops the Rival IPA with Centennial, Citra, Simcoe, and Columbus hops. Contrary to its name, Rival’s ingredients work in perfect harmony for a bold, balanced IPA.

Yards “Loral Lager”
Style: American Pale Lager
ABV: 5.3%
Notes: Brewed with 100% pilsner malt and a new hop varietal called Loral. This hop was designed for pale ales and lagers, rather than in your face hoppy beers. Loral Lager is floral, peppery, with a lemon-citrus characteristic.

Yards “Pynk”
Style:
Fruit Beer
ABV: 5.5%
Notes: Yards decided to give back to the community with this one, donating money for every case and pint sold to breast cancer research and awareness. As for the beer itself, 3300 lbs. of sweet and sour cherries and fresh raspberries are added to each batch, resulting in a tart, effervescent, pink brew. Delighting the palate, this light-bodied brew finishes refreshingly dry. Drinking for a cause is a beautiful thing, and in this case, Yards has proudly donated a portion of Pynk sales to the Tyanna Foundation to help increase awareness and improve the lives of breast cancer patients since 2013. This beer is considered an “extended” seasonal, making a statement for awareness throughout the summer months, concluding at the finish line in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
